Beautiful Lie - Nick C & Jennifer Paige |
] |
I am starting this update off by talking about cookies. Well not really cookies more like delicious Christmas spirit filled biscuits. I was inspired due to all the cookie giving going on right now. Mmm sugar. Anyway, since we have been touring in Europe this time of year I wanted to say Christmas season in Europe is amazing! As is the food that comes out with it, damn do they know how to cook! And I'm not talking your turkey or your chicken or your pork or whatever y'all eat. I am talking cakes! I love Europe for all it's sugary goodness and the fact Nick will now glare at me while I stuff my face full of them. What's my Christmas biscuit of choice? The glazed Lebkuchen, that look like this. And tastes like Christmas mixed with gingerbread and chocolate and so much more. It instantly puts me in this happy mood and I'll go singing Christmas carols and annoying the guys with them. I don't often share, because you know y'all can get your own. But every so often I'll hand them out or they will go missing, but if you ever get the chance to have one. They come highly recommended.
Touring life is hard and Christmas lights hung up in the bus with a small Christmas tree stuck to the table doesn't exactly replace the huge trees and lights and decorations all through the house. But it's something. Luckily our tour will finish before Christmas so I'll have time to buy presents and head on home to spend it with Baylee and family. Baylee turned 7 while on tour with us in Croatia and he had an amazing time. We took him out for a birthday lunch all for him, followed by a on the road family thanksgiving dinner. The day before he got to wear his new favorite costume, stealing hearts in his Scooby Doo costume while Nick kept calling us Shaggy and Scooby all day. And I even managed to get get the crowd to sing happy birthday to him, like the proud father I am!
We are currently doing the crazy hop from Norway to London and then to Copenhagen for the Play to Stop Europe for Climate which is such an awesome event to be part of. But wow it's been a while since our schedule has been this crazy, but all of us love the UK so we'll take whatever chance we have available to come back and play. And it's a Christmas kind of show so why not! Not that I am really complaining even though I have been feeling under the weather I'm on the mend with no return of swine flu thank you!
I think it's been a crazy few months in my life this year and I am kind of looking forward to it all winding down. And for me to probably get more of a handle on things in my personal life. And go into hibernation after the tour! Phil was meant to write this update that I keep trying to get him to finish about how music is him and you can't have one without the other. And that's my life, I mean to like me and to want to really know me you have to understand that as crazy as my life is with touring and everything. My life can't be without that, it hasn't been without that for years and I enjoy it. I love music and it pours out of me, I will be annoying you because I am most likely to break into song. I love touring because the places we get to see are amazing and the way the crowd sings back along and actually wants to come see you is something that can shake your very soul. Without this part of me, I wouldn't be me. Jay is threatening to create a singles ad for me, I may need to go into hiding.
I should also let y'all know that the other fellas are around, Nick and AJ are here. So is Howie but he's busy being a baby daddy. So go add them!
For Backstreet music that didn't make 'This Is Us' check out these three songs that didn't make our album. They are demos so keep that in mind!
And this awesome flash mob in Ukraine.
PS: I really wanted to be in 'Enchanted' damn you James Marsden!
